Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 1st June, 2026

🍔 1. Terms of Use

Welcome to Slurpie ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms & Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Slurpie regarding your use of our food ordering and delivery web application (the "Platform").

By accessing, browsing, or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, you must refrain from using the Platform.

🔒 2. Privacy Policy

We consider your privacy to be absolutely non-negotiable. All personal information, order history, and saved addresses you provide to the Platform are stored highly securely in our encrypted databases.

We utilise industry-standard security protocols (including JWT and bcrypt) to ensure your data remains strictly confidential and protected against unauthorised access. By using Slurpie, you consent to our data handling practices as fully detailed in our Privacy Policy.

For complete details regarding our data practices, user rights, retention policies, and security measures, please refer directly to the Privacy Policy Section.

👤 3. Account Registration & Eligibility

To use the Platform, you must register for the appropriate account type—either as a Customer (Buyer) or a Merchant (Seller).

For Customers:
  • Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of majority) to create an account and place orders.
  • Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete contact and delivery information during registration.
For Merchants (Sellers - Restaurants/Canteens):
  • Business Eligibility: You represent that you are a legally established business entity, cafeteria, or canteen, authorised to sell prepared food in your jurisdiction.
  • Compliance & Licensing: You are solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining all necessary health, safety, and business licenses required to operate and sell food. Slurpie reserves the right to request proof of such licenses at any time and suspend your account if you fail to comply.
  • Accuracy of Listings: You agree to provide accurate descriptions, prices, and allergen information for all menu items and to keep this information up-to-date.
For All Users:
  • Security: You are responsible for safeguarding your password and account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

✏️ 4. Amendments

We reserve the right to amend, modify, or update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Platform.

Your continued use of Slurpie following the posting of revised terms means that you accept and agree to the changes.

⚙️ 5. Use of Platform & Services

Slurpie operates strictly as a technology platform and marketplace facilitator. We connect users ("Buyers") with established, professional food preparation businesses such as restaurants, college canteens, and cafeterias ("Merchants"), as well as independent delivery personnel ("Delivery Partners").

Role of Slurpie: We provide the digital infrastructure to display menus (both for made-to-order items and surplus food) and process orders. Slurpie does not own, operate, or control any of the Merchants or Delivery Partners, nor do we prepare, cook, inspect, or handle the food at any point.

🤝 6. Obligations Pertaining to Usage of Platform

i) By using our platform you represent and warrant that:
  • You will not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or to solicit others to perform or participate in any unlawful acts.
  • You will provide accurate delivery information (such as Google Maps pin drops) to ensure smooth delivery.
  • You will treat Delivery Partners and Merchant staff with respect.
ii) Terms of Service (Food Quality and Liability):

Merchant Liability (Food Quality): The Merchant is solely and exclusively responsible for the preparation, quality, safety, and hygiene of the food. If you receive "bad food," undercooked food, or experience food poisoning or allergic reactions, the liability falls entirely on the Merchant. Slurpie is not liable for any health issues arising from the consumption of food ordered through our Platform.

Delivery Partner Liability (Damaged Goods): Independent Delivery Partners are responsible for the safe and timely transport of your order. If an order arrives damaged, spilled, or tampered with due to mishandling during transit, the Delivery Partner holds full responsibility. Slurpie explicitly disclaims any liability for damage occurring during the delivery process.

💰 7. Order Booking & Financial Terms

Booking: When you place an order, you agree to pay the total amount specified at checkout, which includes the cost of the food, delivery fees, and any applicable platform service charges.

Payments: Payment must be completed securely through our designated payment gateway at the time of booking. Prices are set by the Merchants and are subject to change without notice.

♻️ 8. Cancellations & Refunds

Order Acceptance: Orders can be canceled for a full refund only if the Merchant has not yet accepted or begun preparing the order.

Post-Preparation Cancellations: Once a Merchant begins preparing your food, the order cannot be canceled, and no refunds will be issued.

Disputes: If you receive bad food or a damaged delivery, you must report it through our support channels within 2 hours with photographic evidence. While Slurpie is not liable for the actions of the Merchant or Delivery Partner, we will attempt to facilitate a resolution or mediate a refund from the responsible party at our sole discretion.

📢 9. No Endorsement

Slurpie does not explicitly endorse, guarantee, or certify the quality, safety, or legality of any specific Merchant or the conduct of any Delivery Partner on the Platform.

Any ratings, reviews, or promotional badges displayed on the Platform are generated by the community or based on objective metrics, and do not constitute an endorsement by Slurpie. Your decision to order from a specific Merchant is made entirely at your own risk.
